Spooky Food for Spooky Season - Spaghetti and Brains

Hello!

You can not believe how happy I was when, this year, I was able to get this ingredient to make some spooky dishes - pork's brain!

Last year I tried to get it but the butcher simply wouldn't order it giving me a ton of excuses. Well this year was different. Not only did I get it, but I also wasn't charged for it 😁 of course I had to make a huge order of meat to get the brain (I added my mom's meat order to mine to make a big one) but at least we got the brain 😊

Now, I must say this was my first time preparing and cooking this ingredient and Spaghetti and Brains - This messy dish has chunks of brain mixed in with the pasta - seemed like the perfect spooky food to start with this ingredient. And it was! It's just a shame that I honestly don't fancy brain as a food 😕 maybe it has something to do with the aroma, or the texture, maybe I should have used spaghetti instead of noodles (the aroma is different), maybe I didn't prepare the brain properly (I did wash it well and got rid of most of the fat and outer membrane - and I even added lemon juice! 😩)... or maybe this ingredient has some psychological effect on me. Maybe "all of the above". I don't know *shrugs*. I still have one recipe to go using this ingredient... lets see... but for now...

Spaghetti and Brains - ⭐⭐⭐ - three stars and with some sacrifice 😐 the noodles, egg and ketchup were alright but I did not enjoy the aroma of the brain, nor the texture. And I also believe my own brain created a barrier towards this ingredient. So, yeah, this was spaghetti and brains just for you 😅

Spooky food for Spooky season - Deadly Apple Pie

Hello!
Spooky season just arrived! October is here and I am already feeling very anxious about the 31st of this month 😃 but as that date is still a few days away from now, I am going to make some spooky foods and, who knows, this might serve as inspiration for you to make something different to go with this spooky ambience 🎃
I'm starting off the season with a very simple dish, the Deadly Apple Pie - A slice from this pie would probably be your last. Of course I didn't make this deadly in any way, unless you consider "a pie to die for" as something related 😂
For this I used my favourite apple pie recipe and I have made it totally from scratch using my favourite dough recipe as well. I also used some strawberry topping to decorate those angry eyes :D

Deadly Apple Pie - ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ - This "deadly" apple pie receives five stars for the simple fact that this happens to be my favourite sweet pie. Give me apple pie anytime, anywhere and I'll be a happy girl 💓

Spinach and Cream Cheese Dumplings

Hello!

Here's another Neopian food to keep us on track.

This is the Spinach and Cream Cheese Dumplings - Delicious Spinach with Cream Cheese wrapped up in a dumpling. And this was quite amazing, let me tell you. If you are a fan of spinach, cream cheese and dumplings than this is for you ^_^.

Small Yogurt Pea Smoothie

Hello!
Here's another weird combo for you. This is the Small Yogurt Pea Smoothie - The smushiness of the peas goes great with the creamy yogurt. I wouldn't say it goes GREAT with the yogurt but... you know... if very cold and if we are really thirsty, it might be somewhat pleasant 😊

Small Yogurt Pea Smoothie - ⭐⭐⭐ 1/2 - Because the aroma of the peas can easily become overwhelming. But it is very nice as a cold boost of energy :)

Chocolate Omelette

Hello!

This has to be one of the best omelettes from Neopia I have ever tried! This is the Chocolate Omelette - This omelette is perfect for anyone who loves chocolate. It has a chocolate topping and chocolate mixed in with the egg! It is basically like eating a brownie without the flour and without all the waiting time! 

If you ever feel adventurous, give this chocolate omelette a go. If you like chocolate you will not be disappointed (I guess).

Chocolate Omelette - ⭐⭐⭐⭐ - four stars for the Chocolate Omelette because it's really good and resembles a brownie in flavour but almost like a pudding in texture. I was pleasantly surprised by this food ^_^

B-B-Q Pork

Hello!

If you want to impress someone with a decent Neopian food go for this one. B-B-Q Pork - These meaty pork chunks come with a sweet B-B-Q sauce. And indeed the sauce I made was delicious and sweet and savoury but, in all honesty, I would have used a store bought barbecue sauce (if only I had it!) just for the smoked flavour of it.

B-B-Q Pork - ⭐⭐⭐⭐ - This Neopian food is rated four stars because as I was out of store bought barbecue sauce I had to make my own. But the recipe I used, despite being delicious, it tasted more like a sweet and sour sauce than a barbecue sauce so this ended up missing the smoked aroma, which I love. And it made a huge difference here so, yeah, four stars for the deliciousness.

So easy! - Chocolate Coated Hotdog

Like I mentioned on my previous blog post I am now going through the venues of more... lets call it exotic... foods. Or weird foods... what ever you wanna call it 😅

I am also starting a new series called So Easy! because some of there foods are pretty much just assembling ingredients together, which makes them really easy to make.

So, for a start on these new paths - and series! - I am bringing you the Chocolate coated hot dog - Hmm chocolate and sausage isn't what you would normally expect, but it makes a nice change from mustard.

Probably I should have used another type of chocolate to coat the hotdog but as I have said before, sometimes I make these foods to use up leftovers or ingredients that are going bad soon or even things I have got laying around on my pantry and I don't use that often so, instead of going for a chocolate spread of some sort, I used up a rest of chocolate topping I had in my pantry just waiting for the "finish him" strike. Gladly, and honestly, I was quite happy with the result.

Chocolate Coated Hotdog - ⭐⭐⭐⭐ - This hotdog received four stars because it was surprisingly pleasant to eat. I already know some meats go really well paired up with chocolate sauces but I did not expect the same results with such a processed product that can barely be called of meat. You know what? Try it! :D
