Cauliflower Pasty

Hello!

I've made this Cauliflower Pasty - Thick puff pastry filled with delicious warm, creamy cauliflower - mmmmmmm to save some puff pastry I had in my fridge and guess what? It turned out really yummy ^_^

I'm going to be honest here regarding the recipe: I don't remember the quantities I used because I eyeballed practically everything, because the amount of filling will depend on how much puff pastry you've got!

So, sorry guys, no recipe here, just the ingredients I used.

So, as the description says, I used puff pastry (although I am almost certain that pasties are made with another type of pastry that is not puff pastry... moving on...) and for the filling I used cauliflower of course, onion, garlic and ginger paste, milk, cheese, duck fat, butter, flour, salt, white pepper and nutmeg.

I started by cooking the minced onions and garlic and ginger paste on duck fat and butter, just until the onions were translucent, I added the flour to make a rue and then the milk to make a bechamel. Then I added the cauliflower cut into smaller florets and then I added some cheese. I seasoned it with salt, pepper and a bit of nutmeg and then I let it cool before making the pasty.

After cooling down I rolled out the pastry with a circular shape, added the filling to half the pastry, folded the other half over the filling and closed it with the distinctive twist of the pasties borders. I transferred it to a cooking sheet lined with parchment paper and put it in the oven at about 200ºC. until the puff pastry was cooked (20 minutes, give or take).

Before diving in I had to wait a bit because the filling was piping hot! But dude... that thing was pretty satisfying and delicious! Who would thought it, hey??? Cauliflower..... :P I'm only kidding... did I ever mentioned I love food and there is almost nothing I dislike??? Two exceptions: escargot and sea urchin (and of course I'm not talking about some foreign foods that make me sick to my stomach, either gastronomically or even moral/ethically). But I know most people usually look down on greens and vegetables so... don't ditch the cauliflower just yet, try this! ;)

Cauliflower Pasty - ⭐⭐⭐⭐ - Four stars because it deserved it! It was creamy, the cauliflower was velvety and the cheese gave it that richness, just enough to keep you satisfied. The onion basically disintegrated during the cooking processes so it added a lot of flavour this way and we all know that you can't go wrong with cheese, onion and garlic, right? Just add in some cauliflower and this is what you get! Delicious ^_^

Chocolate Cake *with video!

Hello!

Today I decided to go for one of the most indulgent things I can think a neopet could eat. Chocolate Cake - Mmmmmm, chocolate cake. Dont eat too much. And a person has to agree, one should not eat too much chocolate cake but... honestly... who cares???? No one eats chocolate cake everyday (I think?!).

Anyway, for this recipe I've made a video so, once again, let me know what you think about it, either here in the comments or in the comment section of Youtube.

I must say this is one of my favourite recipes from Neopets: full of chocolate, rich and simply delicious and you can't go right with only one slice! :P

Chocolate Cake - ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ - I am a chocaholic so there is no way I could ever rate this under five stars. Actually if I had stipulated more stars this would always receive the highest rating :P I love chocolate and I used my favourite chocolate cake recipe so... five stars!

Avocado Baby Food

Hello!

I'm in a very bad and sad mood today (to say the least) but I still wanted to post a neopian food and that's why my choice fell on Avocado Baby Food - Mmmmm... mashed up avocado. It looks like it would be good with some baby tortilla chips to dip in it. An easy, effortless and still good recipe (if you can even call it that).

All you need is half an avocado, some lemon juice and a pinch of salt. Of course that if this is supposed to be for baby neopets probably I should have left the lemon juice and salt out but in my house there are no baby neopets, the avocados still oxidize and avocado without sal tastes like nothing -_- so I thought no harm would be done :P

Ok so, peel and mash the avocado, add in some lemon juice to prevent oxidation and season with salt to taste. That's it! I didn't eat it with chips but rather spread on a toast and it was refreshing and delicious ^_^

Avocado Baby Food - ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ - I rate this 5 stars because I am an avid fan of mashed avocado with salt :D But like... a true fan of it! :D Don't judge XD

Omelette Monday - Rice Omelette *with video!

Hello!

It's Monday and today's omelette of choice is: Rice Omelette - The rice stuffing is just mouth-watering!

This one was eaten by me! :D

And, I made a video for it ^_^

So, I was able to taste this omelette for myself and I must say that either my boyfriend is really demanding or my standards are really low XD I'm kidding! The truth is I am a food lover. One of the things that caught my eye right away on Neopets website was the foods. And although I know the difference between good food and bad food, I can't help it but enjoy a lot of average food combinations, or combos that most people wouldn't even consider (but I don't think that's the case here). So it doesn't come as a surprise when I say I love rice omelette! It has one of my favourite combos: omelette and ketchup! :D It's all very subjective when it comes to food, right?

Rice Omelette - ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ - This is rated by me! I ate this omelette and it was so delicious! I love omelette and ketchup so despite being "just an omelette" it doesn't make it any less delicious ^_^.

Avocado Jam Toast

Hello!

This is one of those very quick neopian foods to put together and as I am in a rush, here you have an Avocado Jam Toast - Jam, avocado and toast what could be a better breakfast. Just in case you're in a rush too for tomorrow's breakfast ;)

No recipe needed here, all you need is bread for the toast, half an avocado and jam of your choice. I used cherry jam :D So you toast the bread, cut the avocado as your heart desires and put it on the toast and then top it off with jam :) you're good to go!

Avocado Jam Toast - ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ - This was actually a very pleasant breakfast! Quite yummy in my opinion :D But I am partial you know, I looooove me some avocado on toast! ;)

Almond Pudding

Hello!

Today I am bringing you another neopian food with a video.

If it doesn't take too much time from you I would like to have your opinions on which kind of video do you prefer: me speaking along as I cook (like my Pizza Omelette video) OR some default song added to a video with captions/informations as the video goes, no speaking (like the one in this post). I would really appreciate it!

Now now, on to the Almond Pudding - Almond pudding is a wonderful treat. 

I had a lot of fun making this pudding and the recipe is on the video so I don't see the need of posting it here, but if you think otherwise feel free to let me know :)
