Horn of Pastry

Hello!
I made a Horn of Patsry - "This puff pastry horn is simply oozing with lime flavoured filling."
And it was! I really made it ooze lime filling from its end :P
It was very simple to make, just an average puff pastry cone, baked, and then filled with a lime custard. Delish! Enjoy!

Green Tea Slushie

Hello!
Green Tea Slushie - This green tea slushie is sure to keep your Neopet wide awake. Well... I'm not really sure about that but I can say it is amazingly refreshing and delicious :D
Make a cup or two of your favourite green tea and make it sweet to your taste. Let it cool completely and put it in a container with a lid. You will need to put this in the freezer so make sure the liquid doesn't touch the lid and doesn't come out of the container.
Now, every one hour and a half or two hours you need to check on it and scratch it completely with a fork to break the ice crystals. Even if just a small amount of liquid is frozen, you need to break it! So you keep doing this every hour and a half / two hours until there is no liquid left and all you have is a beautiful granita/slushie. Serve it and enjoy! ^_^

Entering a brief Hiatus - Orange Smothered Swiss Roll

Hello!
My life is taking a few turns and, as much as I want to do everything, I need to establish priorities. I need to put this lovely and yummy blog to a brief hiatus when it comes to recipes. I will keep uploading posts of Neopian food whenever I can but from now on without recipe, just a quick description of the food.
Now, why the hiatus and what turn did my life take?
I am actually going to start on Monday, October the 15th, a cuisine and pastry course :D I am really excited about it and I am determined to finish it with very good marks! Please wish me luck!
So, here it is, I am just going to perfect the art of cooking ^_^
Here are some Orange Smothered Swiss Roll - Two Tangy orange flavoured sponge rolls smothered in a sticky orange sauce.
For the sponge I used my go-to recipe for Christmas Log but added orange zest to the batter. I then used chocolate spread (Nutella like) for the filling and sprinkled some more orange zest on it. After rolling, I smothered the little swiss rolls with an orange sauce made with natural orange juice, orange zest, a bit of sugar and cornstarch to thicken it up :D. I hope you like it!

Omelette Monday - Bacon Omelette

Hello!
Today is omelette day!
Lets make a Bacon Omelette - For the carnivorous omelette eater, a bacon omelette is sure to please any Neopet!
You will need the following:
- frying pan
- bit of oil (if needed)
- 2 eggs + splash of milk
- 6 or 7 slices of bacon
- salt and pepper to taste
Lets prepare the ingredients: cut the bacon slices in half and, in a bowl, whisk the eggs with a splash of milk and a pinch of salt (have in mind that bacon is already salty). Heat the frying pan in medium-low heat. Put in the bacon and cook it a bit. Cook to taste but leave 3 or 4 pieces less crispy and a bit softer. Remove to a plate and set aside. If the bacon released enough fat you don't need to add more oil to the pan, otherwise add a bit of oil. Put in the beaten eggs and let them coagulate a bit. Add in the bacon (but save those less cooked pieces plus 2 more, all for garnish) to one side of the omelette, season with pepper and let it coagulate more until it's almost done. When it's almost done, fold the omelette in half. Let it cook for a further 1 or 2 minutes and turn off the heat. Serve, garnished with the remaining pieces of bacon. Enjoy!

Omelette Monday - Ham and Cheese Omelette

Hello!
It's Omelette Monday time! Lets still keep it simple with a Ham and Cheese Omelette - Everyone loves ham and cheese right?
So, unless you don't like cheese, or you don't like ham, that description is totally correct! Lets do it!
You will need:
- frying pan
- bit of oil
- 2 eggs + splash of milk
- 3 slices of ham (I used chicken ham)
- a handful of cheese of choice (one that melts - cheddar, mozzarella, emmental, gouda...) + a slice for garnish
- salt and pepper to taste
Start by grating the cheese or cutting it into small cubes. Set aside.
In a bowl whisk the eggs with the milk, add a pinch of salt (don't forget cheese and ham are already somewhat salty) and mix everything very well.
Heat a bit of oil in a frying pan on medium-low heat, put in the beaten eggs and allow to start to coagulate. When this happens, spread the grated or cubed cheese on one side of the omelette, and tear two slices of the ham into pieces and scatter them on that side of the omelette too. Season with pepper, reduce the heat to low and allow to cook a bit more. When the omelette is almost done, fold it in half, place the slice of cheese on top of it, turn of the heat and cover for the cheese to melt. Serve with the remaining ham slice teared into pieces and scattered on top. Enjoy!
